You know the old saying, “if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.” The same goes for air duct cleaning in your Raleigh home.  In two recent court cases Colorado’s Attorney General has closed down two air duct cleaning companies for false advertising.

In the first case in late 2014, Seabreeze Air, LLC was found guilty of offering very low-cost prices in advertisements on Groupon, Living Social, and ValPak with “no intention of honoring the advertised rate.”  They would offer a $40 price but then raise the cost significantly once they were in the customers home.

In another case this past April against 212 Home Inc. was labeled a bait-and-switch operation in which homeowners would agree to a contract with the company for $39 only to later be charged much more after the contractor fraudulently identified expensive and hazardous issues.

These kind of dishonest business practice is not limited to Colorado. If can happen anywhere including right here in Raleigh.  Check out this 5 On Your Side Investigation.
